# Get bulk contact deletion progress

This function returns the current status of a previously started bulk contact deletion request such as [Delete contacts from list](https://marketing.developer.dotdigital.com/reference/delete-contacts-from-address-book) so that you can track progress.

Possible return statuses are:

| Status value | Description                         |
| :----------- | :---------------------------------- |
| Started      | The deletion is in progress         |
| Completed    | The deletion is complete            |
| Failed       | The deletion has failed to complete |
